DARA O CINNEIDE underlined his standing as one of Kerry's future stars by scoring 2-6 of his side's total as the All Ireland champions brushed aside Cork in the first round of the Munster under 21 Football Championships at Pairc Ui Chaoimh last evening.
O Cinneide's first goal, in the fourth minute of injury time, turned the game on its head. Kerry struck a purple patch at the end of the period, scoring 1-2 in lost time. The goal came from a quickly taken free by outstanding mid fielder Dara O'Se, who picked up O Cinneide in the left corner an he belted the ball past goalkeeper Des McAule.
Cork missed a glorious chance of getting back into the game just seconds after the resumption, when Alan O'Regan found himself clear with only goalkeeper Diarmuid Murphy to beat, but his shot was well smothered.
Kerry's second goal followed a neat spell of inter passing which led to substitute Gerry Murphy setting up O Cinneide, who shot into an empty net.
