Team news: Kerry senior players Colm Cooper, Declan O'Sullivan and Paddy Kelly all drop down to the county's under-21 football side for tonight's Munster final against Cork in Tralee (7 p.m.). All three players started against Dublin in the All-Ireland senior quarter-final at Croke Park last Saturday.

They all play in the same positions. Kelly, who made an impressive championship debut last week, is in midfield, Cooper starts at corner forward and O'Sullivan, the Dromid Pearses clubman, is at centre forward, with his namesake starting in the other corner. Team captain and former minor goalkeeper Bryan Sheehan was among the unused replacements last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Connacht champions Mayo finalised their starting 15 very late last night, while Fermanagh select tomorrow ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland football semi-final.

Clare named their side yesterday in advance of the inaugural Tommy Murphy Cup final this Sunday in Croke Park. The tournament is the brainchild of GAA president Seán Kelly and was set up to provide weaker counties with competitive football in the latter stages of the championship.

Several factors, including club commitments, ensured it has been fraught with controversy since its inception as several counties withdrew, leaving just four teams remaining to contest the competition.

Clare have named the same side that demolished Louth 2-11 to 0-8 in the semi-final leaving them without three regulars because of injuries to Brian Considine, Philip Smith, and Michael O'Dwyer.

Considine is named on the bench.

Stand-in Sligo manager Paul Durcan - James Kearins was unavailable after the end of the championship - is hoping to name a similar team to the one that overcame Antrim after extra-time in the last four.

The main carrot for the players is that the winners of the match will be sent on an all-expenses-paid trip to Boston.

The fixture replaces the traditional slot of the All-Ireland minor semi-final as a precursor to the senior semi-final. The minor match between Down and Tyrone - another fixture gaffe as it is a re-run of the Ulster final - has been moved to Casement Park on Saturday afternoon.

Tyrone beat Down in the Ulster final after a replay, but have been hit hard by injuries ahead for the weekend, most notably their captain Marc Cunningham.

Donegal forward Brendan Devenney, who was given a six-month ban from the game last week, will play soccer during his suspension. Yesterday he signed for Irish League side Limavady United.

The forward was given the ban for pushing referee Joe McQuillan in Donegal's recent All-Ireland fourth round qualifier defeat by Fermanagh.
