Excellent shot-stopper, particularly in one-on-one situations, he is a steadying influence on the full-back line because of his experience. Kick-outs are so long.
2 MARC Ó SÉ (An Ghaeltacht)
Age: 27. Height: 6ft. Weight: 12st.
Job: Teacher.
His best year and once again the team's best back, he has the ideal temperament for big occasions. Very comfortable on the ball, which also makes him versatile.
3 TOM O'SULLIVAN (Rathmore)
Age: 28. Height: 6ft 2in. Weight: 13st.
Job: Garda.
Although he's not a natural full back, he enjoys man-marking duties and has explosive pace. Struggles with over-head fielding. More suited to corner back.
4 PÁDRAIG REIDY (Scartaglin)
Age: 20. Height: 6ft. Weight: 12st.
Job: Sales representative.
Has all the attributes to play corner back. Quick, he likes to mark from front, which is risky for someone in their rookie year. This didn't work against Monaghan.
5 TOMÁS Ó SÉ (An Ghaeltacht)
Age: 29. Height: 5ft 11in. Weight: 12st 5lb. Job: Teacher.
Inspirational presence for Kerry, his attacking runs from wing back have been rallying points. Form better than last year, but he has to be defensively aware.
6 AIDAN O'MAHONY (Rathmore)
Age: 27. Height: 6ft. Weight: 13st.
Job: Garda
Would prefer wing back, allowing him to attack. Prefers man-marking and finds it difficult to read the play and as a result his positional sense is sometimes lacking.
7 KILLIAN YOUNG (Renard)
Age: 20. Height: 6ft. Weight: 12st.
Job: Bank official.
Another rookie, he ticks all the boxes for a future centre back. Has pace, a good football brain and knows when to attack - though needs to check himself sometimes.
8 DARRAGH Ó SÉ (An Ghaeltacht)
Age: 32. Height: 6ft. Weight: 14st.
Job: Auctioneer.
Best midfielder of the past 10 years. Monaghan and Dublin injury haven't been ideal build-up. Experience will count for a lot. Form not up to last year's.
9 SÉAMUS SCANLON (Currow)
Age: 25. Height: 6ft 3in. Weight: 14st. Job: Fitter.
Whole-hearted, he can be over-anxious to get on the ball, demanding passes in the wrong position. Will be instructed to play between the 45s.
10 PAUL GALVIN (Finuge)
Age: 27. Height: 6ft. Weight: 12st.
Job: Teacher.
Phenomenal work-rate and willingness to put himself about in winning breaking ball and tracking back epitomise the team player. Needs to temper his aggression.
11 DECLAN O'SULLIVAN (Dromid Pearses) (Captain)
Age: 23. Height: 6ft. Weight: 13st. Job: Supermarket manager.
Best year to date. He's been displaying all that's good about forward play from winning the ball deep, unselfish work-rate, creating and finishing scores.
12 EOIN BROSNAN (Dr Crokes)
Age: 27. Height: 6ft 3in. Weight: 14st 7lb. Job: Solicitor.
Not a great year to date, as he's fading out for periods. When engaged he's capable of bursts of speed and brilliant scores. Does better in central positions.
13 COLM COOPER (Dr Crokes)
Age: 24. Height: 5ft 11in. Weight: 11st 7lb. Job: Bank official.
Outstanding year both as playmaker and score-getter. Most difficult to mark because he can finish and yet is unselfish. Has confidence to direct operations.
14 KIERAN DONAGHY (Austin Stacks)
Age: 24. Height: 6ft 5in. Weight: 15st.
Job: Bank official.
Hasn't reached last year's dizzy heights and finds it more difficult to win ball at full forward. Versatile though and looked accomplished outfield against Dublin.
15 BRYAN SHEEHAN (St Mary's)
Age: 22. Height: 6ft 2in. Weight: 13st.
Job: Student.
Very skilful and accurate, particularly from the placed ball, close-range and long-distance. Also very dangerous from play. Lacks a bit of aggression and pace.
