CORK completely outclassed a Kerry side, which included former Dublin footballer Vinnie Murphy, in this National Hurling League division two tie played at Tralee's Austin Stack Park last evening.

Cork's Barry Egan opened the scoring with a well taken point after only 20 seconds, and they led by 0-5 to 0-1 at the end of the first quarter. Then, after 18 minutes, Sean McGrath raced through unchallenged to score his side's opening goal.

Gerard Manley at full forward was the star performer on the night, shooting six points in the first half before being forced to retire soon after the interval with what appeared to be a broken nose.

Cork led by 2-11 to 0-2 at half time, and in Manley's absence they eased off somewhat in the second half.
