A QUICK flurry of goals in the second half killed off the challenge of Dublin in yesterday morning's Leinster Hurling Intermediate Championship game at Parnell Park.

After a dull first half which saw Kilkenny lead by 0-8 to 0-7 at the break, the match eventually sprung to life 10 minutes into the second half when a long ball from half back Aidan Flynn broke to Dublin's Donal Lawlor who smashed the sliotar past John Dunphy.

An Ollie O'Connor goal strengthened Kilkenny's hand. Dublin's attempts to regroup in the final 10 minutes were frustrated even further when Dermot Fennelly connected with a ball from just outside the square and drove to the net. To add to Dublin's woes, midfielder Rory Moore added Kilkenny's third shortly before time.
