FORM side Kilkenny City gave runaway First Division leaders Bray Wanderers a testing time as the sides played out a hugely entertaining 2-2 draw at Buckley Park on Saturday night.
Brendan Rea headed Kilkenny in front from a Ray Foley corner on 15 minutes. Bray were level two minutes later when Pat O'Brien and Derek O'Neill played a one-two with the cross being spectacularly headed home Ritchie Parsons.
Kilkenny regained the lead six minutes into the second-half when Brian Arrigan scored from the penalty spot, but Bray responded within five minutes when Gavin Teehan knocked a Coyle free-kick across goal for Kieran O'Brien to shoot home from close range.
Finn Harps took second place in the table by beating Longford Town at Strokestown Road. Referee Joe O'Brien incensed Longford with two decisions which resulted in the only goal of the game four minutes from time. A shot from Harps' Pierce Walsh struck the crossbar and went over, but the referee gave a corner. Jonathan Speake's shot on goal following the corner seemed to be cleared off the line but the referee gave the goal.
Home Farm-Everton's promotion push suffered another blow when they were roundly beaten by Limerick at Hogan Park. Daithi McMahon scored the first of two penalties just before half-time and Howie King increased Limerick's lead 12 minutes into the second-half from six yards.
The game flared up on 76 minutes when HF-Everton's Peter Eccles, was dismissed for an off the ball incident with Antonio Izzi. McMahon sent Robbie Davies the wrong way again from the resultant penalty.
Lee King scored twice as St James's Gate beat Monaghan United 2-0 at the Ivengh Grounds.
