Intermediate School Killorglin, powered by their midfield pairing of Donnacha Walsh and Paudie McCarthy, sent Colaiste Chriost Ri crashing out of this year's Corn Ui Mhuire with an emphatic victory at Knocknagree.

In the process Killorglin are now through to the semi-finals and their win also means a reprieve for St Brendan's, Killarney, who will now go into the quarter-final play-offs.

Killorglin struck for a goal in the 12th minute which rattled Chriost Ri. Fergal Griffin started a four-man move that saw Donnacha Walsh finish to the net. J Masters then opened the Cork account in the 14th minute with a point but a series of bad wides was to cost them dearly. Ross Sheehan with three, Donal Kelliher with a mighty effort and Liam Sheehan with another helped Killorglin to a 1-7 to 0-2 lead at half-time .

Eoin De Barra got an early Chriost Ri point on the changeover but the game ended as a contest in the 38th minute when a Damien Breen shot came back off the crossbar into the arms of Liam Sheehan and the lively corner forward made no mistake from close range.
