CLARE SFC FINAL/Kilmurry-Ibrickane 0-17 Doora-Barefield 0-5:IN A terribly one-sided affair, Kilmurry-Ibrickane captured their 20th title in all and their third in four years at Cusack Park, Ennis, yesterday.
St Joseph’s Doora-Barefield failed to score at all in the opening half, going in 0-8 to 0-0 behind at the break as they found odds-on favourites Kilmurry superbly prepared for this final. Fine defensive midfield play by team-captain Peter O’Dwyer and Paul O’Connor helped in keeping St Joseph’s scoreless in the first-period.
Wing-forward and man-of-the-match Ian McInerney was in good scoring from both frees and play. Doora-Barefield opened their account in the 34th with a pointed free by sub Colm Mullen.
