Michael Kinane's appeal against suspension is set to be heard on Thursday, just two days before the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.
Kinane, who picked up a two -day ban (July 27th-28th) at Leopardstown on Wednesday, would miss out on partnering Galileo if the ban stands. However, the jockey lodged an appeal against the decision yesterday.
"An appeal of behalf of Michael Kinane has been lodged," his solicitor Andrew Coonan confirmed. "We examined videos of the race very closely and we decided he should appeal." Kinane picked up the suspension for careless riding on .
The Turf Club's chief executive Brian Kavanagh confirmed that Thursday is the most likely date for the hearing. "We will try and get something agreed over the weekend but there is no racing on Thursday and that is the most likely day," Kavanagh said.
