Jim Kirwan is the man in form at Carrick-on-Suir golf club. Kirwan won the nine-hole singles last weekend with 23 points, which also included a hole in one at the par-three 166-metre second hole. The 13 handicapper then followed up by winning the final outing of the Clodiagh Golf Society on Monday with a great score of 42 points. Kirwan, who plays left handed, comes from the nearby Clonea Parish.

Overcoming the loss of the top match to Mullingar Scratch Trophy winner Pat Collier, UCD gained a 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 victory over Lahinch in grim conditions at Lahinch last weekend.
