Kismah stamped herself a decent prospect with a convincing victory in the Bonusprint Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Ascot yesterday.

He has ambitiously entered the daughter of Machiavellian for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, a Group One event, over the course and distance next month.

Double Oscar left David Nicholls rueing the gelding's unfortunate absence from last Saturday's Stewards' Cup. The 10 to 1 co-favourite quickened in great style to lead inside the final furlong and defeat High Carry by one length in the Rennie Deflatine Handicap.

Nicholls was told that Double Oscar had been granted the last place in the 30-runner field for the Goodwood handicap but an hour later the horse was ruled out by Weatherbys. Owing to computer error Ansellman had been left out of the race and after an appeal by connections he was re-instated at Double Oscar's expense.

The Minister for Agriculture and Food, Joe Walsh, and Noel Ryan, Chief Executive of the IHA, were among those at a pre-race function to announce details of a new £500,000 development at Kilbeggan last night.
