Terenure lost Eric Miller after half an hour, but a few minutes later a converted Sean King try left them leading 17-3. Kevin Putt had been Terenure's inspiration and finished a move he had started in the Shannon 22 for their first try.
Shannon's comeback started with a John Lacey try before the break and he had another on 53 minutes. Terenue came back, but a late Dave Quinlan try secured Shannon's win.
