Under-21 Football Leinster Semi-finals/Laois 1-10 Westmeath 0-7:Laois remain on course to retain their Leinster title following this success over Westmeath at Cusack Park, Mullingar, yesterday.
All six Laois forwards found the target in stark contrast to Westmeath, who struggled to make inroads against a tough defence.
With the game tied at 0-3 as the interval approached, Laois scored the game's only goal when Shane O'Neill shot past David Bryan.
After David Glennon had reduced the margin with a 32nd minute free, three points from Craig Rogers, Cathal Greene and Michael J Tierney, secured Laois's position and they finished with a flourish as Tierney and Brendan Quigley shared four points.
Two late John Connellan efforts only served to add some gloss to the Westmeath scoreline.
