Man-of-the-match Willie Hyland posted 0-9 of the visitors’ tally in a predictable encounter.
Laois led at the break by 2-7 to 0-6 thanks to goals from Garry Reddan and midfielder Seán Bourke. Aidan Boyle reignited Kerry’s hopes with a superb goal but further goals from Bourke and Owen Holohan ensured Laois always had plenty in hand.
