Celtic's Henrik Larsson stands on the verge of smashing Charlie Nicholas' post-war goalscoring record. And many - including team-mate Ramon Vega - believe the Swede can set a new record at Aberdeen tomorrow.
Larsson has already netted 47 goals for the Parkhead club and needs just one more to equal Nicholas' club record haul from 1982-83.
"Henrik Larsson has performed very well this season," Vega said. "I have only been here for three or four months but I have seen him in games and in training sessions and I think he could play and score in any league.
"He is definitely a world-class striker. I hopes he breaks the record on Saturday."
Vega's own future at the club has yet to be secured after joining from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season. His agents have already had preliminary talks with manager Martin O'Neill.
Aberdeen boss Ebbe Skovdahl admits that the chances of stopping Larsson hitting the back of the net are slim.
He said: "We have to perform at our full potential if we are to get anything from the game. Henrik Larsson is the biggest threat and has never been kept quiet during matches."
Rangers boss Dick Advocaat plans to thrust his injured captain Barry Ferguson straight back into action today in a bid to stop Celtic winning the title before the league splits in two.
If Rangers lose to Dundee United at Ibrox, it opens the door for their cross-city rivals to wrap up the Scottish Premier League next Saturday with a trio of wins before Rangers play again.
Midfielders Jorg Albertz, Claudio Reyna and Tugay are all back in the squad, but none has played so much as a practice game.
A player hoping for a start is striker Billy Dodds, who scored two goals against Belgium for Scotland and another against San Marino.
They were his first goals of 2001, such has been the paucity of opportunity offered to him by Advocaat at club level.
This will be the fifth time the two sides have met this season which includes United's inspired 1-0 Scottish Cup clash victory at Tannadice.
