Falkirk 3 Celtic 3:A LATE equaliser from substitute Mark Stewart gave Falkirk a share of the spoils as they drew 3-3 with leaders Celtic in a pulsating clash at the Falkirk Stadium yesterday.
Celtic’s Republic of Ireland midfielder Aiden McGeady had a first-half penalty saved by Robert Olejnik, before Gary Caldwell headed Celtic ahead just after the break. But Scott Arfield levelled from the spot, before Pedro Moutinho volleyed Falkirk ahead on his return to the club.
Substitute Scott McDonald then headed the equaliser in the 72nd minute before grabbing another five minutes later.
But there was still time for Bairns substitute Mark Stewart to make it 3-3 to mean the Bhoys extended their lead over Rangers at the top to just two points.
On Saturday Kris Boyd showed why Rangers fans are desperate for him to remain at the club as his double secured a 2-1 victory over St Mirren and allowed the Scottish champions to reclaim second spot in the League.
The striker netted in the opening minute and again in the second half at Ibrox to ensure Rangers moved ahead of Hibernian with a game in hand.
