Colaiste Iognaid, due to a last-minute try from centre Dara Cunningham, secured victory in this Connacht Schools Senior Cup quarter-final against Sligo Grammar School played at the Galway Sportsgrounds yesterday. Colaiste Iognaid took the lead on 52 minutes with a penalty from the Sligo Grammar 22 metre line. Sligo Grammar were twice awarded penalty opportunities, but on each occasion centre Senan O'Rourke shot wide. Sligo made one last burst out of defence but centre Donnacha Carey intercepted for Cunningham to grab the decider.
