PETER LAWRIE, the new Irish amateur champion, steps on to the European stage in Sweden today. He is one of six Irish competitors involved in the European amateur individual championship at Karlstad.
Lawrie, who defeated Garth McGimpsey in the championship final at Newcastle just a week ago, was looking good in the second and final practice round yesterday.
Jody Fanagan and Keith Nolan, both selected in the Britain and Ireland team for the St Andrews Trophy match against Europe at Wood hall Spa next week, are also competing.
Brian Omelia, Noel Fox and Graham Spring complete the Irish contingent.
