FAI League of Ireland Premier Division/Drogheda United 2 Galway United 2:Ten-man Galway stunned Premier League leaders Drogheda with two goals in the final four minutes to take a point from a match where they played second fiddle for the most part.

Having had Stephen O'Flynn sent off in the 38th minute, and fallen two goals behind, Tony Cousins's men staged a remarkable fightback. They were helped by goalkeeper Dan Connor who was at fault for both late goals.

Drogheda dominated the opening half but failed to find a way through a resolute defence. Stuart Byrne shot wide and Gavin Whelan created the opening for Eamon Zayed who pulled his strike across the face of goal. Tony Grant had a shot turned out for a corner by Alan Keane and Zayed missed the ball from six yards with the goal yawning.

Seven minutes from the break Galway were reduced to 10 men when O'Flynn lunged two footed at Stuart Byrne.

Right on the half-time whistle Gavin Whelan's effort from the edge of the box was blocked but the ball rebounded to his feet and he was a unlucky to see his volley shave the post. In additional time Galway won a free 35 yards from the Drogheda goal which John Lester struck and Connor did well to touch round the post.

Immediately after the resumption Galway almost took the lead when Derek O'Brien clipped the ball just past the post. Drogheda were unfortunate not to break the deadlock on 70 minutes when Paul Keegan rattled the bar.

Drogheda's pressure paid off when Brian Shelley pulled the ball back from the endline for James Keddy to slot home. Four minutes from time Drogheda appeared to seal the win when Zayed struck for a second goal.

Sixty seconds later Connor spilled the ball when challenged by Vincent Faherty and Alan Murphy lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper. And right on full-time they levelled when Derek O'Brien's cross-come-shot confused Connor who managed to push the ball into his own net.
