Australia's Stephen Leaney beat former US Open champion Corey Pavin on the first play-off hole to win the Australian Players Championship in Brisbane yesterday.
Leaney produced a barnstorming finish with four birdies and an eagle over the last eight holes for a final round of five-under-par 68 to finish with overnight leader Pavin on a 17-under total of 275.
Pavin, chasing his first victory in more than two years, had held a three shot lead with six holes to play. He finished with a final round of 69.
Leaney sealed victory by sinking a six foot putt for par on the first play-off hole.
