UEFA Cup hopefuls Leicester found their scoring touch at Filbert Street last night.
A week before their match against Crvena Zvezda they gave their fans something to shout about.
Leicester went into the game with only one goal in their opening three games, however they completed a comfortable victory against the newly-promoted side with a dominant second-half show.
Ade Akinbiyi celebrated his first goal for the club by making the breakthrough in the 55th minute. Skipper Matt Elliott added a second 18 minutes later to put Leicester in the driving seat.
Ipswich went into the match in confident mood after defeating Sunderland and almost took the lead in the sixth minute.
Marcus Stewart found space in the penalty area and sent in a neat chip.
But Northern Ireland defender Gerry Taggart was alert to the danger and headed clear on the line.
Ipswich were looking dangerous on the counter and Marcus Stewart should have found the target with a header from Jamie Clapham's cross, but he sent his effort wide.
Ipswich were playing nice football but they seem to lack a cutting edge, and were under pressure again in the 35th minute as Leicester poured forward. But Akinbiyi's finish went high over the bar.
Leicester made the breakthrough in the 55th minute after a surging run into the opposition half by Eadie. His low cross was steered home by Akinbiyi.
Leicester added a second goal in the 73rd minute and Wright appeared to be at fault. He was hopelessly positioned as Elliott found himself on the scoresheet with a looping header following a corner on the right from Guppy.
Ipswich pulled a goal back with a minute to go when Jim Magilton scored from the penalty spot after Elliott had brought down David Johnson.
