Leinster get a boost up front

Celtic League Leinster v Glasgow, Donnybrook, 7.30 p

Celtic League Leinster v Glasgow, Donnybrook, 7.30 p.m: Probably not how they would have it, but Leinster coach Declan Kidney should be pleased that he has two Irish panellists back to face Glasgow tonight: Emmett Byrne at loosehead prop and captain Leo Cullen in the second row.

With Leinster in fourth place and Glasgow in fifth the outcome tonight will decide which remains in the higher position.

Gary Brown also comes back from injury and should use his pace on the left wing. Kieran Lewis is on the right, while Clontarf's Dave Hewitt takes the 15 jersey.

Cullen partners Ben Gissing in the second row, but Kidney also arrives with a strong bench in what is expected to be a tough outing against a Glasgow team who hope to line out with the same side that beat Llanelli Scarlets 40-29 last Friday.

Cammy Mather will turn out for Glasgow in his accustomed role at blindside flanker despite the ankle injury picked up earlier in the week. There is some doubt as to whether he will last the full game.

The visitors have, however, left a blank at tighthead prop as Euan Murray was sent off while playing in the league match against Llanelli. The team are waiting to hear from the Scottish Rugby Union's disciplinary committee before they finalise the lineout. Apart from that space in the front row, Glasgow have an unchanged team.

They lost by only one point, 30-31, on their most recent visit to Leinster in April last season. "I see no reason why we cannot take a step beyond that after our performance against Llanelli," said Glasgow coach Hugh Campbell.
