Leitrim 2-8 Roscommon 0-11:Leitrim turned Division Two A on its head yesterday when they took the points from their Connacht neighbours in Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon.
The home side had the better of the first half but fell behind on seven minutes when Colin Regan opened the scoring. However, Enda Kenny got Roscommon back on track with two fine scores from play as the home side gradually took control.
Leitrim paid the price for some wayward shooting and trailed by three points at the break (0-6 to 0-3).
Leitrim battled bravely after the restart and managed a goal midway through the second half through Gary McCloskey.
The midfielder finished well after Declan Maxwell's clever pass to leave three points between the teams.
The visitors continued to rally and cut the gap to a single point before Stuart Daly and Cathal Cregg restored Roscommon's lead to three.
The visitors raised their second green flag of the day when James Glancy rose highest to flick the ball to the net past a helpless Geoffrey Claffey and never looked back after that.
Roscommon came looking for a goal in the closing stages but it wasn't to be as centre-back Barry McWeeney broke forward to seal an impressive win for Dessie Dolan's men.
