Leitrim ... 2-6 Offaly ... 1-8A goal in injury-time gave 14-man Leitrim their first points of the campaign in a scrappy, free ridden game at a cold Páirc Seán Mhic Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon, yesterday.
Offaly dominated for much of the game but were unable to shake off a persistent Leitrim, who scored their goals at either end of the second half.
The Offaly goal came in the 19th minute through Pascal Kellaghan, and the visitors controlled the remainder of the half and led 1-5 to 0-3 at the interval.
Three minutes after the restart the home side shocked Offaly when substitute Michael Duignan volleyed to the net from close in.
Offaly's Pascal Kellaghan responded with three pointed frees, and when Leitrim's Padraig McLoughlin was sent off, there seemed no way back.
But Leitrim hung in and got their reward when wing back Niall Kilbane goaled with the last kick of the game.
