The second leg of the FBD Barton Cup will take place at Carlow on Saturday with Dundalk taking a 3-2 lead into the match. For the Dundalk team it will be a family affair with three father-and-son pairings in the Louth side. Former League of Ireland player and his son Alan will be joined by Pat and Stephen Hoey and Terry and John Conlon. Other members of the panel include brothers Ed- die and Peter Rogers, Charlie Monahan, Dermot Murphy, Leslie Toal, the former Louth GAA star Gerry Murray, Neill McGuinness, Benny White, Peter Tuite and Aidan Molloy.

Meanwhile, Carlow's Jim McVeigh will be seeking a repeat of 1978 when he was a member of the last Carlow winning side. McVeigh will be joined on the Carlow team by Harry Ewing, a grand nephew of the legendary Cecil Ewing, brothers Brian and Derek Kilbride (sons of former winner Michael), Leo Grogan, John Swan, Ross Hennessy, Brian Kirwan, Stephen Murphy and Tommy Lennon.

In the 90-year history of the Barton Cup, Carlow have claimed this coveted Leinster title in 1908, 1969 and 1978 and will be hoping to add to that this year which is also their centenary. This year's competition attracted some 117 clubs catering for over 1900 golfer.
