BASKETBALL:The Tralee Tigers victory over the Limerick Lions on October 27th has been reversed by the Superleague management board. Tralee won the match 81-76 but citing regulation 7.6.7 regarding "procedures that will apply when a game is disrupted and subsequently abandoned for the reason of condensation on the floor of the court" the board awarded Limerick a 20-0 win.

The Sports Complex court in Tralee was deemed unplayable so the officials agreed to move the game to Mount Hawk secondary school, which was about 30 minutes away. The Limerick management acquiesced but lodged an immediate protest.

A Superleague statement stated: "The Superleague Management Board regrets that this situation arose, but in order to maintain the high standards of the Nivea for Men Superleague it is important that venues are fully equipped to ensure this situation does not arise."

The new result means the Tigers lose their 100 per cent start to the season while Limerick move off the bottom of the Southern Conference.
