GOLF:LISA MAGUIRE continued her domination at the top of the leaderboard in the European Women's Individual Amateur Championship in the Netherlands yesterday. The 16-year-old from Slieve Russell, Co Cavan, goes into the final round today four strokes clear.
Maguire added a one-over-par 73 to her 73 and 68 for a 54-hole aggregate of 214, two under par.
Her nearest challenger is France’s Perrine Delacour with Charlotte Kring Lorentzen and sister Leona Maguire just behind.
Elsewhere, in the European Young Masters Championship at the Royal Balaton Club in Hungary, Irish hopes of a medal have effectively disappeared.
In the Boys event Paul McBride is joint 16th, while Luke Woods is further back after scores of 81 and 80.
In the Girls event, Olivia Mehaffey and Hannah Henderson are well off the pace.
