Peter Lonard's disappointment at losing the New Orleans Classic by one to Argentina's Andres Romero will be eased by confirmation that he has made it into the field for next week's US Masters.
The Australian climbs to 46th in the world rankings on the day that the top 50 earn places at Augusta National.
Romero, whose victory came in just his 12th US Tour event, is up from 40th to 21st in the world.
Padraig Harrington, who finished fourth as he steps up his Masters preparations, remains the leading Irish player in 12th while Graeme McDowell is next best at 61st.
