Depleted Longford Town showed plenty of character as they refused to allow this game get away from them at Strokestown Road on Saturday night and twice came from behind to earn a point.

As in the first-half, Galway began the second period more positively and were again rewarded when regaining the lead on 53 minutes, Bobby Ryan arriving at the back post to drill home Colin Fortune's cross.

However, Longford were level from a similar goal within three minutes. Stephen Gavin's cross from out on the right touchline was headed back across goal by Eric Smith for Stephen Kelly to nod past David Forde.

But Longford once more responded well and equalised ten minutes later when Keith O'Connor was left unmarked to power a header past Forde.
