Longford 0-10 Cavan 0-7:THE VISITORS underpinned their promotion hopes by overpowering an inexperienced and youthful Cavan side.
A gem of a point from Niall McDermott and two frees from Raymond Galligan helped Cavan lead 0-3 to 0-2 by the 21st minute.
Longford eventually emerged out of their shell with Seán McCormack cutting Cavan’s lead to 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval.
But the Leinster men were a different proposition on the restart and impressive sub James McGivney, Paul Barden and McCormack ensured there was no way back for outgunned Cavan.
