WOMENS HOCKEY: The top five play the bottom five in the Leinster first division tomorrow and so, if form persists, it should be "as you were" in the standings come the conclusion of the day's games. Loreto, though, will be taking nothing for granted against a UCD team that has started the season encouragingly.

After last Saturday's defeat by Old Alexandra, only their second league loss in 44 matches, Loreto face a testing weekend, with their game against Hermes, postponed last month, rescheduled for Sunday.

Hermes have begun the season brightly, although Sunday's game will be their first meeting with a team from the top five. They are the only team in the first division yet to drop a point, they're the top scorers with 10 goals, Kristen Farrell is the division's leading scorer with five goals, and they've yet to concede a score.

Hermes' opponents tomorrow are Three Rock, who picked up their first points last weekend when they beat Clontarf.

Pembroke Wanderers and Railway Union, too, have begun impressively, and with Hermes are the division's only unbeaten teams. Both will expect to extend that run tomorrow when they play bottom three teams Trinity and Corinthian. Old Alexandra, meanwhile, should keep the pressure on the top four when they play Clontarf at Milltown.
