MICHAEL STOUTE bids for yet another big prize with Yalaietanee in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2,000 Guineas) on very soft ground at Longchamp tomorrow.

The Dubai World Cup-winning trainer, who has already landed Group races with Desert Story, Time Allowed and Whitewater Affair in Britain this year, aims to follow up last Saturday's 2,000 Guineas victory with Entrepreneur.

Victory will make him the first to win the first colts' Classic in both Britain and France since Guy Harwood struck with To Agori Mou and Recitation in 1981.

Yalaietanee's Green ham Stakes victory has been franked by runner-up Revoque's second place at Newmarket, but the colt has a new jockey tomorrow.

Richard Quinn takes over from Frankie Dettori who is claimed by Godolphin for Middle Park Stakes winner Bahamian Bounty, who makes his reappearance in the one-mile contest.

Andre Fabre's Loup Sauvage will be well backed to give champion jockey Olivier Peslier his first victory in the race after a strong-finishing second to Daylami in last month's Prix de Fontainebleu at Longchamp.

But Daylami's trainer Alain de Royer Dupre warned: "I fancy my colt to finish in front of Loup Sauvage again".

In the Poule d'Essaie des Pouliches (1,000 Guineas), Criquette Head and her brother Freddie will be trying to make up for the Newmarket defeat of favourite Pas de Reponse with the unbeaten Always Loyal.

The filly whom Madame Head labelled "my secret weapon" just fended off Mousse Glacee in the Prix de La Grotte at Longchamp in April.

Mousse Glacee is described as "in great shape" by trainer Jean Lesbordes and both fillies will be strongly backed to prevent another British victory in the Pouliches following the shock success of Ed Dunlop's Ta Rib last year.
