LEINSTER UNDER-21 FC QUARTER-FINALS: Louth 3-6 Longford 1-10:LOUTH turned in a thrilling second-half display in Haggardstown last night to book a Leinster under-21 semi-final date with Offaly.
Down to 14 men from late in the opening half after the sending off of Eoin O’Connor, they outscored their fancied opponents by 2-4 to 0-2 in the first 20 minutes of the second period to record an impressive victory. William Woods had grabbed Louth’s first goal on 22 minutes and he followed up Shane O’Hanlon’s goal during their purple patch in the second half as they built up a 10-point lead before a late Longford rally.
