LEITRIM/SF Final: Allen Gaels retained their Leitrim title in a dour County final at Carrick-on-Shannon when overcoming Melvin Gaels. Fifteen of the eighteen scores in the game came from frees.
Man-of-the-match Donnacha Lynch put Allen Gaels ahead 0-4 to 0-2 at the break - converting four frees. Liam Gilmartin replied with three frees for Melvin Gaels.
Allen Gaels took a decisive grip on the game in the opening minutes of the second half with points from Alan McKeon and Denis Gibbons. But Liam Gilmartin kept the Gaels in the hunt when he tapped over two frees in the next seven minutes.
