Coláiste Eoin1-14 St Declan's 2-7:ON A day when the elements made quality hurling difficult, it was Coláiste Eoin who had that extra bit of hunger to take the Dublin schools senior hurling title yesterday at DCU.

Aided by a strong breeze in the first half, Coláiste Eoin stormed into their Cabra opponents and established a comfortable nine point lead at half-time, 1-9 to 1-0. Donal Sutcliffe was putting in a fine display at midfield for the Booterstown school, but the star of the show was corner-forward Seán MacCraith.

MacCraith hit 0-11 and seven of these came in an awesome first-half display. Best for St Declans was centre back Shane Bonfil, and he inspired his side to a fine second-half comeback.

Bonfil hit 1-4 and when his 15 metre free in the 54th minute was blocked on the line, substitute Colm Browne was on hand to scramble the rebound into the net.

This left only three points between the sides, but the Booterstown college did just enough.
