BOXING News: Brian Magee hopes to prove tonight that he has recovered from his recent defeat at the hands of Robin Reid.
Magee returns to the ring, in Altringham, for the first time since losing his IBO super-middleweight title to Reid at the King's Hall in June. Magee hit the canvas four times on the way to a unanimous points defeat.
The Belfast man has been matched with Neil Linford, who he defeated three years ago over 12 rounds to win the IBO inter-continental title.
Magee is currently ranked number five by the European Boxing Union and a shot at champion Rudy Markussen is a real possibility in the New Year.
Promoter Barry Hearn Hearn said: "I want Brian to come back and show everyone that the fight against Reid was just a bad day at the office."
Dublin light-welterweight Michael Kelly will face Henry James over four rounds.
