Jeff Maggert heads the leaderboard at the halfway stage of the Buick Challenge in Georgia after carding a 69 yesterday to add to his superb opening round of 63 for a second round total of 132.

Six players share second place, five shots adrift of Maggert. Joe Durrant, David Duval and Glen Hnatiuk all shot second rounds of 69, after identical first round scores of 68, and they are joined behind the leader by Paul Azinger, Cameron Beckman and Carl Paulson.

Nick Price is one shot further back on 138, after a second round of 68. He shares that position with Scott Hoch, Brian Gay and Stewart Cink, who all failed to build on their opening round scores of 67, each carding a 71 in yesterday's play.

Ireland's Keith Nolan failed to make the cut on a total of 146, after a disappointing second round of 74.
