ADRIAN MAGUIRE has decided to call off his appeal against a six-day ban for irresponsible riding at Kempton. The jockey's about turn came after he viewed videos of Saturday's race with Michael Caulfield, the secretary of the Jockeys' Association.
Maguire, in action at Leicester yesterday, said: "I discussed the matter at length with Michael Caulfield last night and I've decided to withdraw the appeal."
The Irishman felt he had been harshly treated after he was punished for his riding of Adilov in the John Court of Margate Quality Decorators Novices' Hurdle.
He was found guilty of causing, interference to Country Tarquin as the latter tried to get up his inside on the run to the first flight.
Maguire's ban, which runs from January 27th to February 1st, rules him out of the important Agfa meeting at Sandown on Saturday week.
