Mahon UCD's team boss

Pete Mahon and Eddie Wallace are the new managerial team at UCD

Pete Mahon and Eddie Wallace are the new managerial team at UCD. They succeed Paul Doolin, who resigned last Monday to take charge of Drogheda United.

Ex-St Francis and Bohemians manager Mahon, who leaves Leinster Senior League side Belgrove to take up the post, will be responsible for team affairs, while Wallace, who joins from St Joseph's Boys and was with the club prior to the death of Dr Tony O'Neill almost four years ago, will concentrate on the club's successful scholarship programme.

Neither will work under a contract. "We don't rush into things and we don't rush out of things either," said a club spokesman.

"The club is honoured Pete and Eddie have agreed to take the reins at this critical juncture in the club's history," said chairman Gerry Horkan.
