Malahide U 0 Dundalk 4:GLEN CROWE'S hopes of adding a third FAI Senior Cup winner's medal to his collection ended at Gannon Park as Malahide bowed out with their pride intact.
The LSL side have just begun their intermediate campaign while Dundalk desperately needed a win. The non-leaguers took the contest to Dundalk from the off and Crowe tested Peter Cherrie inside 60 seconds from a menacing Stephen McDonnell cross.
But Michael Rafter’s cross created the opener for Gary Shanahan who fired home after nine minutes and Mark Griffin’s free made it 2-0 for the visitors.
Lorcan Shannon ended any notion of an upset after 74 minutes and substitute Bob McKenna added a deserved fourth late on.
