CRICKET:Two appetising semi-finals of the Antalis Leinster Senior Cup take place in Dublin today.
In north county, Malahide and Merrion go head to head for the second time in less than a week, starting at 11am. Earlier in the week, the two teams contested the semi-final of the DGM League, with Merrion going through in a tight contest.
In a rain-affected match, Malahide made 155 for nine off 41 overs with Richard Keaveney doing most of the damage with five for 38. The Malahide total was was reduced by the Duckworth-Lewis method to 115. Merrion were given 25 overs to chase the total on Monday evening.
This they did with two wickets in hand, surviving the shock of losing four quick wickets with less than 10 needed to win.
The other of today's semi finals sees a strong Clontarf side taking on YMCA at Castle Avenue. Tomorrow sees the second instalment of the LHW Twenty20 Cup, starting at 11 o'clock.
Also taking place tomorrow is the third and final game of The Future Cup series between India and South Africa in Stormont.
