KEVIN MANNING became the latest jockey to be ruled out of part of the Galway Festival when he, was suspended for three days at Naas last evening.

On an evening that saw him ride two winners to bring his season's tally to 41, Manning was banned for three days for excessive use of the whip on Swift Gulliver, narrowly beaten in the EBF Maiden. Although he rallied in the closing" stages Swift Gulliver failed by a short head to catch Family Tradition, another winning debutante from the Aidan O'Brien stable.

Closely related to Commander in, Chief and Dushyaator amongst others, Family Tradition is expected to improve for the run by her trainer and will next go for the Beresford Stakes.

Manning had earlier recorded his 40th success of the season when making all the running on 6 to 4 favourite Durrah Green in the Abbey Street Maiden.
