ULSTER SFC QUARTER-FINALS/Clontibret 0-10 Dromore 0-8:CONOR MANUS would not have played had this game gone ahead last weekend but yesterday his five excellent points, four from frees, helped Clontibret to a two-point victory over Tyrone champions Dromore in Clones.

Clontibret opened well and were four points ahead after 12 minutes but the Tyrone kingpins improved in the second quarter to leave Clontibret with just a two-point lead at the half-time break, 0-6 to 0-4.

By the 10th minute of the second-half Clontibret had forged five points ahead but by the 22nd minute of the game Dromore were right back in the contest with three unanswered points, all from frees.

A minute into stoppage time Eoin McCusker reduced the deficit to a single point but Clontibret staged a magnificent rearguard action to hold out for his side’s victory.

Dromore finished the game with 14 players following a second yellow card shown to Colm McCullagh in the 29th minute of the second half.
