Young Munster...12 St Mary's...22: Neither side were entirely satisfied with the outcome at Clifford Park on Saturday.
Young Munster weren't all that disappointed at losing their twelfth match in 13 for the knew they were already as good as doomed to relegation.
But there is a keen rivalry between the clubs and Young Munster never like losing to St Mary's and certainly not on the day when all mathematical doubts have been removed as to their status in the League.
St Mary's for their part played some great football in the opening half after which they led 22-5 and already had three tries in the bag.
However, they failed to add a fourth in the second half during which, in fact, they couldn't manage a score of any kind. The loss of the bonus point could be keenly felt.
The yellow carding of Peter Clohessy, playing his first match of the season for Young Munster, and two tries for Kieran Lewis, the St Mary's centre, were the major talking points of the first half.
Young Munster lifted their game appreciably in the second half with Paul O'Connell excelling in the second-row and showing no signs of the setbacks that have hindered his international career in recent weeks.
The only score of the second half was a Young Munster try by Des Clohessy converted by Mike Lynch.
