Under-21 FC Connacht: Leitrim were never in contention against a well-drilled Mayo side who dominated the exchanges in a one-sided provincial first-round tie at Páirc Seán Mhic Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon, yesterday.
Although Leitrim's Emlyn Mulligan opened the scoring with a point from play after two minutes, it was to be the home side's only score in a half where Mayo scored six points and registered eight wides to lead at half-time by 0-6 to 0-1.
Although the situation did improve somewhat for Leitrim in the second half, Mayo were by far the better side in all sectors.
