The meeting between Roscommon and Mayo provides the main attraction in round two of the All-Ireland football qualifiers. The matching of the Connacht rivals was one of eight pairings made in last night's draw, though three matches have yet be properly determined because of the drawn games in Leinster and Munster yesterday afternoon.
Whoever emerges from next Saturday's Leinster semi-final replay between Offaly and Kildare will take on Limerick.
Similarly, the Munster semi-final replay between Cork and Kerry will decide who meets Wicklow in the second round.
Louth also await the losers of the Dublin-Meath semi-final, set for Croke Park next Sunday.
Four of the pairings are definitely known - Laois play Clare, Tyrone meet Leitrim, Westmeath face Fermanagh and Longford play Derry.
The games will be played over the next two weekends, June 22nd-23rd, and June 29th-30th, with the GAA's Games Administration Committee meeting today to confirm dates and venues. Likely to get home venues are Laois, Leitrim, Louth and Longford.
Tyrone will count themselves fortunate at having avoided a high-profile county yet again. After losing their opening-round game in the Ulster championship to Armagh, they faced a Wexford side who were always chasing the game. Leitrim are in an earlier stage of development and so Tyrone will be well fancied.
Derry face a Longford side that managed to dispose of Down in the first round without being hugely threatening.
Clare will also find it difficult to rise to the test of Laois, who have gained fresh impetus after their first-round win over Carlow.
The draw between Fermanagh and Westmeath is one of the more novel pairings. After beating Antrim just six days after their heavy defeat to Meath, the feeling is that Westmeath can improve again. After a poor show against Armagh, Fermanagh will also feel capable of improvement.
Louth are sure to relish the challenge of meeting either Dublin or Meath. They will be helped by the fact that they meet their opponents just six days after the Leinster semi-final.
Mayo narrowly fell to Galway earlier this month and are sure to be thinking about the back door route to the final. So too will Roscommon, who also fell to Galway but feel the qualifiers owe them a favour this season.
