Mayo 2-8 GMIT 1-5:MAYO FINALLY saw the light in McHale Park on Saturday, the first game under floodlights, but it wasn't until the second half James Horan's charges switched on.

A goal after eight minutes from GMIT’s Eric Monahan gave them a deserved 1-1 to 0-3 half-time lead, all the Mayo’s scores coming from Cillian O’Connor frees.

A superb point from Ronan McGarrity kick-started Mayo. Cillian O’Connor goaled on 47 minutes and Mark Ronaldson’s goal from a penalty sealed victory.
