Celtic League: Ulster coach Mark McCall has stuck with the same starting team that defeated Connacht so impressively last Friday night at Ravenhill when he travels to Scotland for the final Celtic League match before the Heineken European Cup kicks in.
The province will know that they need a maximum-point win at the Border Reivers if they are to have any chance of going top of the league before the break for the first rounds of European competitions. The Reivers, however, have been in resurgent form this season and will be looking for a fourth consecutive league win which, if results elsewhere go with them, could see them into the top three for the first time in their Celtic League history.
McCall, however, is also keeping one eye on the future and has brought in young Stephen Ferris, who joined the Ulster squad on a development contract his year. Ferris was impressive in Ulster A's recent match against Leinster A and that show of form has been rewarded with a place on the replacements bench in place of Campbell Feather. The only other change to the 22-man squad is the inclusion of Andrew Maxwell on the wing ahead of veteran international Tyrone Howe.
Neil McMillan has also been included in the backrow. The flanker injured his back and neck last time out and came off as a result, but he joins number eight Roger Wilson and blindside flanker Neil Best for the final outing before meeting Treviso.
Kieran Campbell remains as first choice scrumhalf despite the presence of Australian recruit Isaac Boss, who remains on the bench. Again McCall goes for a mixture of experience and youth in the back line, James Topping, Kevin Maggs and David Humphreys blending in with Tommy Bowe on the wing and the in form centre Andrew Trimble.
