Every big game needs a hero, and it was Carrickmore's Seamus McCallan who was cast in that central role yesterday. McCallan fisted an equalising goal in the second minute of injury time to provide a remarkable finish to the Tyrone championship final.

The champions, not for the first time this season, looked dead and buried, but their legendary resilience shone through yet again. The strong running of Errigal midfielder Peter Loughran carved the opportunities for Eoin Gormley and Mark Harte to open up a 0-7 to 0-3 lead.

Errigal led by 0-7 to 0-5 at the break, but the champions came back strongly after the break. McCallan's goal was crucial.
