Tony McCoy is expected to return to his home in England today following surgery on his broken right wrist.
The champion jump jockey has been released from University College Hospital in Galway and faces several weeks on the sidelines.
He took a crashing fall from the ill-fated Sporting Limerick at the penultimate flight in the williamhill.ie Handicap Hurdle at Galway on Wednesday.
"The operation went well and he's coming home tomorrow," said McCoy's personal assistant Gee Bradburne.
McCoy's injury meant he missed the winning ride on Far From Trouble in the William Hill Galway Plate.
Meanwhile, at Goodwood yesterday Spectait got up beneath the shadow of the post to lift the valuable totesport Mile at Goodwood yesterday.
Mark Prescott's 9 to 2 shot travelled strongly into the straight and moved up on to the heels of the leaders as the field approached the final three furlongs.
When asked for maximum effort by jockey Seb Sanders, the four-year-old responded gamely but only overhauled 7 to 2 favourite Dunelight late on.
Clive Cox's runner-up had been prominent throughout and stuck to his task when challenged, eventually going down by an honourable half a length.
Prince Of Thebes (66-1) came from out of the chasing pack to grab third a further length away, with Sir Gerard (13-2) filling fourth spot.
"He was just wandering around a bit, that's the way he is," said Sanders, who was celebrating his third winner of the meeting. "He's proved just what a good horse he could be on the day," he added.
